# Grief Meets Grace

Loss sneaks in sideways.  
Others move like it costs nothing.  
Stay positive, power through.  
Grief doesn't work that way.

Something else showed up.  
Grace, the version still here.  
Not cured, not easier,  
unexpected openings.

Stop demanding impossibles,  
stop fighting grief,   
let it move through.  
Then a quiet appears,  
hadn't heard in years.

Room for quiet in mind,  
body followed slowly.  
Not healed, not restored,  
capability I didn't see coming.

Less going back, more becoming.  
Still among trees older than pain,  
carrying both things at once.

Grief for what's gone.  
Gratitude for what's possible.  
Grace, unearned peace.
