Silence Is Radical

A quiet returning.
light shafts coming through the trees

In a world rewarding
noise and motion,
silence feels radical.

In the woods...

Hush between wind and leaf.
Pause between crow calls.
Still water reflecting without rush.

Silence isn't absence,
isn't avoidance,
it's presence.

How I regulate,
stop performing,
feel the earth under me.
